In this video I present my top 5 cryptid legends within the Canadian province of Ontario.
Cryptids are the creatures/beings of folklore/mythology/legend whose existence has not yet been proven. I find that wherever you are on the spectrum of belief, looking at cryptid legends can be an interesting way to learn about a region's history and folklore.
Some of these cryptids have been seen across the continent, and some are local to Ontario.
There are definitely more than 5 creature legends in Ontario, I am just presenting 5 strong legends as a good starting point for exploring this topic within the province. I am giving a general overview, and for a more in-depth look at these cryptids I would definitely recommend Hammerson Peters - he really goes deep into these stories and I'm a big fan of his YouTube channel.

1 - The Igopogo of Lake Simcoe
2 - Mussie of Muskrat Lake
3 - Bigfoot/Sasquatch
4 - The Toronto Tunnel Monster
5 - Dogman
