"If I die...I don't know how long the city will stand."

Studying Greek tragedians was one of the best pleasures of attending a high school focused on ancient cultures to me. It just hits me so much how myths and stories narrated thousands of years ago still can make our hearts stretch and break, and that through them we can still dig into human nature so much...it feels magical. The Iliad, in particular, is actually an epic poem, but it's still one of the greatest myths ever told, and also a tragedy in the contents of the story, AND it features one of my favourite tragic characters of the ancient times, Hector. He's a true hero and I love him. I find myself rooting for the Trojans all the times, and whenever I read about/see his death onscreen it's just heartbreaking.

Quoting Wikipedia:
"Indeed Homer places Hector as the very noblest of all the heroes in the Iliad: he is both peace-loving and brave, thoughtful as well as bold, a good son, husband and father, and without darker motives. When the Trojans are disputing whether the omens are favourable, he retorts:

One omen is best:
defending the fatherland."

So this is just a tribute to him -- trying to go through his most defining relationships and allegiances and acts -- and to show my love for the Greek myths. Despite "Troy" 's many (and often very unnecessary o.o) mismatches with the original source, both main heroes (Hector and Achilles) were just like I've always imagined them and Eric Bana/Brad Pitt were just perfect for those roles, so using this film still felt right to me. I kept my editing as basic as possible because I felt it was better that way, hope you still enjoy!
