Hiking from what is referred to as "the bottom" to the Shower Room in The Subway is the most fun adventure one can do in Zion National Park surpassing Angels Landing and that is because a permit is required which limits the number of folks (80 per day) doing the hike. On this hike, we encountered just two other hikers! The hike requires a bit of fitness, some walking in water, some scrambling over boulders of all sizes, and a bit of route finding. But all in all, the hike is a major league blast. The round trip hike is about 9 miles with about 1,000' of elevation change.
