Continuing from the Stream of Beginnings (Prologue to Chapter 6), we're revisiting Chapters 7 and 8 of the Fire Emblem Engage campaign on Maddening difficulty. This is on the 1.3.0 patch using fixed growths.
Questions this time:
- How should you use the Ancient Well?
- Where should you go after completing Chapter 6?
- What are the benefits and drawbacks of delaying the first two paralogues even more?
- Who deserves the first Master Seal?
- How much money should you donate, and when?
- Should you really try to get Canter on everyone?

I put some extra hours in at the Fire Emblem content factory this week, and that led to a big breakthrough: a new, reasonably consistent turn-by-turn strategy for Chapter 1 on Lunatic+ difficulty in Fire Emblem Awakening.
One of my long-term projects has been to develop a strategy for Lunatic+ that satisfies a few special goals:
- Dont pour all the resources into Robin. I want something that can support the deployment and training of a full army.
- Dont use the full water trick in the Prologue. Its really annoying to do, and its extremely frustrating when Robin gets destroyed by a crit from an Elthunder Mage 50 turns in. This makes the first point more necessary, since Im not going to get Robin to level 8+ in the prologue.
- Allow Asset/Flaw combinations that arent strictly optimal for clearing Lunatic+ (for which the best is probably +Spd/-Skl) but are better for post-game optimization, in case you want to take your L+ clear file into No-DLC/No-Rally Apotheosis or something.

Special thanks to muhmuhten for developing a custom code patch for me that produces (approximately) fixed growths, but cut down by 20%. That means that, for example, a 60% growth rate gets treated as 0.48 and does not provide a stat point when leveling from 1 to 2, but does provide a point on the next level because 0.96 rounds up.")
