Whilst patch 3.26 added some very significant new unique items to allow for the introduction of Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice, it didn't shift the top end of meta builds all that much, with Trickster holding onto the top spot despite being nerfed. However, patch 3.27 sought to shift the balance of life vs energy shield, not by strictly nerfing ES, but instead by introducing new tools for life based builds.
