For more than a decade, Gracie suffered as a dancing bear.
She was exploited, controlled and forced to “perform” through fear and agony. By the time she was rescued, this beautiful sloth bear was blind in one eye, the rope used to control her had become embedded in her brutally pierced muzzle, and her front teeth had been forcibly removed. The pain she must have endured is almost impossible to imagine.
No bear should ever have to live like this.
Now, at last, Gracie is with our partners, Wildlife SOS, at the Agra Bear Rescue Facility. She is receiving urgent veterinary care, pain relief, soft food, and the gentle compassion she was denied for so many years. But her recovery will not be quick or easy. After a lifetime of cruelty, she needs long-term treatment, round-the-clock care, and the chance to heal in peace.
