This #OrangutanCaringWeek, every adoption represents real, ongoing care for an orangutan at YIARI's rescue center.
One of those orangutans is Rahman.
Rahman was just a year old when he was discovered alone in a plantation in 2018. There was no mother nearby. He was scared, crying - completely vulnerable.
The Ministry of Forestry rescued him and brought him to the centre run by our partners, YIARI. Since then, his life has changed entirely.
Today, Rahman is thriving. He's learning how to forage, climb, and live like a wild orangutan - vital skills for a future in the forest. His recovery has taken years of expert care, nutrition, enrichment, and rehabilitation - the kind of support that adoptions help make possible.
There are currently 60 orangutans in care.
Our goal this week is to find 60 new adopters - one for each of them.
