Today I’m exploring gel plate printing using Klimt-inspired stencils by. It’s a little experimental, allowing me to work more intuitively and see where the process leads. I print the patterned designs onto Kozo paper and build painterly layers on the gel plate, embracing texture and imperfection along the way. Lavish touches of gold leaf are added, along with warm bronze and copper tones, creating a rich, decorative surface.
The focus is on exploration rather than perfection — letting paint, pattern and metallics come together in an expressive way. If you love decorative surfaces and mixed media gel plate printing, this one’s for you.
