Today I’m exploring five different textures on the round gel plate and asking the question — Does the shape of the gel plate influence the composition?
Using my round gel plate, I experiment with a variety of techniques to see how texture behaves within a circular format. I work with stencils to create bold graphic layers, try a watery paint technique for softer, fluid effects, build depth using layered masks, and experiment with household items to introduce unexpected marks and surface interest. I also incorporate gel plate collage elements to bring everything together into cohesive, textured prints.
