Valgard: Realm of the Vikings Construction at Paultons Park, join us as we follow the incredible transformation of open space, former attractions and major construction works from 2024 through to 2026 as Paultons Park creates its most ambitious expansion yet, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings.

Watch as this huge development evolves from cleared land into a fully themed Viking world featuring Drakon, Raven, Vild Swing, The Orchard Playground and the Nordic Feasting Hall.

From early site clearance and demolition through to coaster construction, ride testing and final theming, Valgard represents one of the most significant developments in Paultons Park history.

Construction began following the removal of Dragon Roundabout and Magma, with Magma later relocated to Crealy Theme Park as Pirates Plummet. Cobra remained but underwent a major transformation to become Raven, while large areas of open land were incorporated into the new Viking themed expansion. The Go Karts were also removed for wider future development, though not directly as part of Valgard itself.

Valgard officially opens on 16th May 2026 and introduces three major attractions to Paultons Park.

Drakon is the park’s first ever inverting roller coaster, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter featuring a vertical lift hill, beyond vertical drop and thrilling inversions.

Raven, formerly Cobra, has been fully rethemed into a Viking scout themed coaster, blending classic family thrills with entirely new theming and storyline.

Vild Swing, the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing, introduces a completely new ride type to the UK market with gravity defying swings and Viking storm themed excitement.

Beyond the rides, Valgard also features The Orchard Playground, a large Viking themed play area for younger guests, and the Nordic Feasting Hall, a major themed restaurant adding to the park’s family dining experience.

This expansion dramatically reshapes the northern side of Paultons Park and positions Valgard as one of the UK’s standout new theme park lands.

Paultons Park, located in Hampshire’s New Forest, is one of the UK’s leading family theme parks and home to over 70 rides and attractions.

The park is internationally recognised for Peppa Pig World, the world’s first Peppa Pig themed land, alongside major areas including Lost Kingdom, home to Velociraptor, Flight of the Pterosaur, Splash Lagoon and Dinosaur Tour Co., Tornado Springs, featuring Storm Chaser, Cyclonator, Buffalo Falls and Al’s Auto Academy, plus Critter Creek and Ghostly Manor, the innovative haunted dark ride opened in 2025.

Valgard marks a major new chapter in Paultons Park’s growth, with future developments including the park’s first on-site hotel and lodges, plus a major new water ride expected in 2027.

This construction journey captures the evolution of Valgard from undeveloped land to one of the UK’s biggest new family thrill destinations, showcasing how Paultons Park continues to expand into one of Britain’s most ambitious and successful theme parks.
