Let's review each episode of the TV show The Venture Bros, the greatest adult animated series ever made!

In The Revenge Society, The Phantom Limb returns! Now calling himself Revenge, as that is what he seeks to bestow on the Guild of Calamitous Intent and everyone else who has wronged him. Which he will do with the help of the ORB. Yeah, this episode is basically just here to wrap up the plot points established in the previous two season finales. Where I'm wondering if the writers originally intended for them to remain an unresolved gag, but were constantly bugged by fans and the studio about them, so they made this episode to quickly resolve them. Because for an organization and artifact that were built up with such an air of mystery to them... There's not a lot of mystery in this one. I do like the beginning, where Phantom Limb disarms the Guild's traps using just a toaster. And it is fun following this even more insane villain, as he and his team comprised of a coffee cup, said toaster, and one of Doctor Girlfriend's shoes kidnaps two of the Guild representatives, STITCHES THEM TOGETHER, and demands they search for a certain clause in the charter. Meanwhile, Billy is stuck in a bag Phantom Limb kidnapped him in, desperately wishing to just be taken back home, but he just can't help himself and continually comments on the situation. Where it's just hilarious seeing him moving around in the bag as he talks. And the rest of the episode boils down to a lot more talking, in a similar vein to Perchance to Dean, as once again, the characters have NO idea what's going on and are just acting on their first impressions. But, like that episode, I like everyone's interactions. Such as Venture again proving he's supportive of Dean and telling him that things like the entire Guild army showing up on their doorstop is just normal for a boy adventurer, so it's natural to be a little nervous and throw up a bit. Or Hank and Sergeant Hatred hanging out and running from the Guild as they think they're after Hatred, Hank finally starting to get used to his new bodyguard. Even if, again, Hatred is just one joke. What's the joke? Well, that he likes to do the crossword in the New Yorker-oh, I mean, that he's a PEDOPHILE! I'm sure you're tired of me pointing that out, but I'm even more tired of how the show won't STOP pointing that out! But we get to see more of NOT David Bowie and his shapeshifting powers, so everything's forgiven. And in the end, Revenge gets his slightly more visible hands on the ORB and unleashes its unspeakable power. ...In that I literally can't tell you what it does, as it's revealed it was smashed over a hundred years ago, rendering it the useless MacGuffin it always was. Yeah, sorry to spoil that for you. But there is another quick twist at the end that I won't spoil. This is again, not one of the greatest episodes, especially with how it just hand waves away a lot of plot points fans have been waiting months or even years to be resolved, but still a fairly entertaining one and worth watching if just to see how looney for looney flakes Phantom Limb has become. And especially this fakeout involving Doctor Venture from the future.
