The Art of Nature - Germany | THE REALITY of living in the COUNTRYSIDE in WINTER - German village life @theartofnaturegermany | Uploaded February 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
How is it really to live in the Bavarian countryside in winter? Aren’t there any difficulties we have to face or is it only a big funny snow party? In this video I show you the beautiful and the ugly sides of rural life in winter and tell you some personal stories about problems that can occur like car accidents and frozen toes.

Here you find the VIDEO of SHIFAIRHA LAIDLAW about winter in the Canadian countryside:

It was snowing and snowing and snowing and as we got over half a meter snow these days, the winter wonder was perfect. The first task of every day is therefore to trample down the snow on the cat paths in the garden, because the cat doesn’t go out anymore when the snow is higher than herself. Later on that day I went out for a winter walk together with my mum. The path on which we were walking is normally a street for cars, but with all this snow it was totally hidden. We reached a lake where we spent some beautiful time to watch the winter sunset behind the clouds, which created a very special atmosphere. On that walk I also managed to freeze my toes to death as I stepped into a wet snow and water mixture on the icy surface of the lake. Therefore, I had wet feet for the whole walk and they got frozen. On the way back to the car it hurt so much that I had to shout because of the pain and then they were very red and swollen. That wasn’t the cleverest thing I did… But on the next day I dressed properly when I went out to enjoy a stormy winter day in the snow. I met my dad who went out for some cross-country skiing on the trail around the village. It took me a long time to go into the forest I wanted to go, because of all that high snow. Transportation is also a problem in winter here in south Bavaria. Lot’s of snow and icy streets make it difficult to drive a car and I actually had a car accident three years ago on new years eve. If you visit a cold area and are not used to snowy and icy weather, please drive very carefully. All in all, I try to see the winter wonders through the eyes of a child and have fun with the snow and the ice. The winter in the countryside has for sure it’s cons, but for me the German countryside is the most beautiful place to live. Especially here so close to the Alps, the winters are just breathtaking.
