Barbie is probably the most successful entertainment product for girls that's ever existed. Toys, movies, TV shows, games, altogether, it's grossed an incredible amount of money. And the effect an aisle of Barbie toys has on a girl is almost hypnotic. There's something about the character, her look, lifestyle, and the colors that are used, that connects with the psyche of most young women. Especially because we can see a lot of the same colors and conventions in women's television. In this video, we'll dive into all of it, and see if there's a clear explanation.
