In this episode we look at the new Ravn III Mani and Sol deck campaign from Stockholm17, the Purple Haze Ravn deck and the Bicycle Edgar Allan Poe playing cards deck.

Stockholm17 and Magician Caroline Ravn present the latest addition to the Ravn Playing Card Series, Ravn Mani and Sol, a new Kickstarter campaign. This release sees the return of the popular card backs, this time in deep yellow and cobalt blue. Instantly recognizable to fans of previous editions, they feature a great two-way design bursting with the titular ravens. There are six pairs of silhouetted birds. One to a corner and two more at each side.
The tuck boxes are completely new and redesigned. Featuring the iconic ambigram RAVN logo, the boxes will come in Navy Blue and Chocolate Brown (one for the Blue deck and one for the Yellow deck respectively). Copper foil embossed, the design iterates on the traditional skull and bones motif by featuring a crow’s death head with a pair of feathers (not too dissimilar to a quill) criss-crossed behind. In the background is the dodecahedron.
The court cards are standard bicycle court cards that have had the faces and hands modified and refined to be more aesthetically pleasing while still remaining highly recognizable.
The jokers are new. One sees the return of the raven, this time perched atop another stellated dodecahedron. This one features a three of diamonds revealed inside a cutaway. The other joker features a shrieking cat, back arched in defense, on a star polyhedron that been sliced flat to provide a platform for the kitty to stand.
The ace of spades takes a page out of M.C. Esher, with the titular bird standing inside an impossible shape spade pip. There are two feathers on the floor underneath, and the returning star polyhedron.
Designed for everyone, the deck does also feature some magic friendly additions; a double backer and a split face card--jack of hearts/ten of clubs.
Printed using the same stock and finish used with the previous Ravn Purple Haze edition--thier Cambric 310gr Black Core paper with 9C² varnish--the decks will handle beautifully.
