In this episode we discuss binding and loosing as it related to Luther and the Roman Catholic Church. In Luther’s day the Catholic church made false laws and then required people to pay a penalty for violating them, and thus abused the flock for financial gain.
We go on to discuss Matthew 18:15-18 and show that the whole church is involved in church discipline, which is also binding and loosing.
We conclude with a reminder that those who are in Christ agree that He is the head of the church and His teachings are binding. We are loosed from Satan and have the forgiveness of sins. The terms of the gospel are given to all believers and are a part of the priesthood of every believer.
