Even the power creep got power crept. Mint retrograde continues to be one of the best weapons in the game and they made it even stronger. Before the god roll was rewind rounds so you never have to reload it, with a damage perk like one for all, bait and switch, or elemental honing. And while this weapon didn’t get any new perk rolls added to it, bungie did add a special version with the accelerated assault origin trait. I got this one from the grandmaster vanguard alert last week and as you can see it doesn’t have rewind rounds so normally it would be an instant delete, however, accelerated assault is so powerful you don’t need rewind rounds. This will also reload it as you shoot, allowing you to dump all your entire ammo reserves and it also provides a small damage buff on top of that. And since we no longer need rewind, that means we can now use another perk in the third column like beacon rounds or hatchling, essentially giving the old mint retrograde a free perk and more damage.
