Our Community Contributor Anna Channell speaks with educator Katie Calkins about the PLAY Project, a parent and professionally implemented intensive early intervention program that helps children learn best through the art of playing. Calkins is a speech-language pathologist for the Saranac School District in Clinton County, New York. She says playing "improves a child's social functioning, an area where children with autism are often challenged."
