My review of the excellent and extremely underrated DC take on the legendary Phantom. The four issue miniseries by Peter David was well received and still remains a great read. But the true surprise is the 13 issue ongoing followup series by Mark Verheiden. This is not only one of the best Phantom comics but one of my favorite comics period. It's a darn shame the series was cancelled after only 13 issues.
Neither was reprinted until Hermes Press recently released three hardcover collected volumes with a few nice extras. I review the first volume in this video and do a direct comparison with the original issues.
