This review is for two extremely rare and newly restored early Douglas Fairbanks titles: DOUBLE TROUBLE and MR. FIX-IT. This Blu-ray is only available from the Film Preservation Society. Unfortunately while the restoration work itself is excellent-there has been a massive amount of DNR and other video processing utilized in not just the Biograph shorts included as extras but also the feature transfers themselves. This is painful to see as the FPS has put in massive efforts to restore these films as best as humanly possible only to send it down the drain by this hideous video processing. The picture quality is unacceptable so it is a very tough recommendation to fellow videophiles-but the films remain as timeless and charming as ever.
