Federal Canadian politics and the outdoors might not seem connected, but for hunters, firearms owners, and outdoorsmen, decisions made in Ottawa are having a bigger impact than ever. By continually creating new restrictions and bans designed to completely outlaw firearms down the road, the government is making it harder to enjoy the traditions we love.
In this video, we take a look at a growing movement in Alberta, the province that tends to view things differently, where the notion of seeking independence from Canada is being heard more and more. Could Alberta separate from Canada? With federal restrictions on firearms, energy, and culture, more people here are questioning whether they would be better off on our own, so we examine the viability of Alberta’s independence and what it would mean for hunters, shooters, and outdoorsmen.
