I do not know how this is being avoided these days, since there are still the different framerate versions for material, but it tends to be smooth video and identical audio pitch.
I can hardly believe that there is a process for preserving pitch that matches the industry standard, but maybe there is.
This speedup (and resulting minor play length reduction) was only done so that framerate would be smooth, since trying to intelligently convert 23.976 FPS to 25 FPS is a tricky endeavor and never ideal.
In fact, this video might not reflect the fluidity of the material properly since it has to play videos with three different framerates. (But my editing software is doing its best.)
