The Ormond way is a hidden heartlands gem here in Ireland but has yet to be officially launched as a hiking waymarked trail and is the 6th stage of The 1000km Ireland Way.
It's a fine mixture of hiking through Irish rolling hills, woods, peat bogs and country lanes. There is also a great explorers mix of histories such as Lorrha, and the modern, Cloughjordan's Eco Village, to see and whiteness. Once again I was blown away by the locals I met along the way and the incredible generosity that was shown to me as a marched along on my way up through Ireland.
Although the Ormond Way is yet to be finished and in need of some work from what I saw it is near completion and very well may be fully complete by the time you head on your journey.
