I'm not an RX7 historian but from what I understand, this car disappeared for decades after its initial release and press tour, and only resurfaced in the last couple of years at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California. The color is original and many RX7 owners and enthusiasts have sought to replicate it, something that's harder than it looks as the color has both a flake, and alternate color in the clear coat, making photo-based matching practically impossible.
But again, I could have all of this wrong. ;)
