The Multeen Way may be one of the shortest trails on The Ireland Way, but what it lacks in distance it more than makes up for in depth of fascinating history and the character of its people.

After battling through the last section the hiking was a bit easier but encounters with hogweed, guard dogs, bulls and stampeding cows did keep me on my toes. Country lanes, fields, hills, and windfarms dominate this section.

Legendary Robin Hood-type hero's use to roam this area and faction's use to beat each other with sticks in street battles. Francis, Liam and Michael thankfully were able to regale me with these incredible stories and more.
