The exercise of Monarch’s reserve powers has generally occurred with little controversy. But recent events have reminded us of the constitutional risks if the Monarchy is drawn inadvertently into politics. To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, this lecture will examine the evolution of this delicate balancing act.
