About the poet - M.K.Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (2 October 1869 -- 30 January 1948) was a preeminent leader of Indian nationalism during the British ruled India and led the country towards nonviolent independence. This poem is part of his various other spiritual writings. He was assassinated by Nathuram Godse on 30 January 1948, while walking to a platform where he was to address a prayer meet.
