The Stolen Child - A poem by William Butler Yeats.
About the poem - The poem takes place in the beautiful town of Sligo and Leitrim where Yeats spent most of his childhood. The poem is about a small child who is tried to be lured away from his family and home, by the enchanting fairies to their playful and green world, which they claim is without tears and unhappiness, unlike the human world.
About the poet - William Butler Yeats (1865 -- 1939) was an Irish poet and playwright, and one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature. He was born in Dublin, Ireland.
