On May 14, 2023, police responded to a welfare check at a bar in West Salem, WI. They found a heavily intoxicated man who had collapsed repeatedly. Recognizing him from previous encounters, where he displayed violent behavior while intoxicated, the officers decided to transport him to the hospital for detox. However, at the hospital, his behavior escalated and he became increasingly resistant.
