In 2002, high off the heels of the first movie adaptation the year prior, interest in LOTR video games was at all time high. Black Label Games managed to strike first with Fellowship of the Ring for the Xbox, PC, PS2, and gameboy.
However.. they didn't have the rights to the movie, EA did, so they instead based it solely on the book, allowing it to explore parts of the story that wasn't included in the movie, including the iconic, Tomb Bombadil.
The game sees you playing through the events of the first book, playing as Frodo, Gandalf, and Aragorn throughout their adventure to destroy the ring.
This is the PlayStation 2 version, which was developed by Surreal Software alongside the PC version. Both are quite different to the Xbox version developed by WXP Games, which gives the game some more open-ended RPG elements.
This was played via a PS2 emulator.
