Recently, I was driving through the Mojave Desert on Interstate 15 when something caught my eye on top of a rocky hill. I wasn't sure, but it looked like it might be tombstones. But the hill was remote, with no real roads leading to it, and located in a place that has been called the Yarrow Ravine Rattlesnake Habitat.
Curiosity got the better of me.
So I pulled off the interstate and made my way out into the desert to find out what was really up there.
This area is near several points of historical interest, including a place known as Forks of the Road, where two early wagon routes into California once met. Standing out there, it made me wonder… could this be connected?
What I found was a small, forgotten cemetery, overlooking the interstate, yet completely unknown to the millions of people who pass by it every year.
In this video, we head back to the so-called Yarrow Ravine Rattlesnake Habitat (which appears to have been erased) to see if we can unravel another of its mysteries.
