During my first playthrough of Skyward Sword, this theme haunted me. I found it just playing on loop in my head all day. What was weird was I didn't even really like the game. I was so busy with making covers full time, school, streaming, and everything else in 2013 when I played this game, and unfortunately I had a similiar experience to people who felt SS generally wasted their time. I didn't give the game a fair shot honestly and I've been enjoying it much more with the remake now that I'm in a different headspace and don't mind just vibing with a game. However even though I wasn't enjoying the game as much as I wanted to, I couldn't deny that this song was powerful.
I wrote it down as a cover to do back in 2013 and it's stayed in that spreadsheet until now. I kept thinking over the past 8 years how to tackle it. It really needed the sensitivity to not be blasted with metal guitars, should be played on a piano like the original, but would be so cool to play on ocarina, but there's a cool way to play it on classical guitar, and honestly I should just blast it with metal guitars.
As you can see, I just opted for all of them in one arrangement. I figured there's no better time now to take on this song so I hope you enjoy how it turned out. In someways having all these plans made the final result for me feel less than I felt like I could have done, but I'm still proud of how it turned out and hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching!

This was the one cover I said I would never do.
The reason why is silly but I think it was important to an older me. I really didnt feel like I enjoyed Halo all that much growing up. I still remember playing it for the first time in a Circuit City (OLD) when it had just came out, and I was really excited to play it. I spent countless hours enjoying the multiplayer, but I really struggled to enjoy the story. The whole thing felt like such a slog to me for some reason.
In the early days of YouTube for me, I always felt like what made a cover good was the players emotional attachment to the game. I really thought you could feel it listening to someone who loved the game rather than just someone putting it out because it got views. I was so committed to making a name for myself as someone who only did songs from games I liked.
I enjoyed making this cover, and I really love this song. So its strange to think that my enjoyment of a story mode in a gmae I otherwise enjoyed barred me from doing this for so long. I really did have a blast getting to play this iconic song on guitar and add my own flair to it. Its nice to line this up with the rerelease while others are enjoying it again so it felt like a great time.

Ive had quite a time recently speedrunning this game, but rarely ever make it to this part. My stream chat however, will tell you that every time I get to the final part I get this riff stuck in my head and talk about how badly I want to cover it. Predictably so, it was so much fun to arrange and track.
I knew that this would be significantly easier to pull off than some of the other tracks Ive been doing because of the repetitvie nature of it, and since I really needed to churn something out quick this week after doing a filming project in LA this past week, this song was perfect to tackle now.
Especially now that mario is ded. Rip. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

I was at an impasse of whether to jump onto this or try and take on Week 7 stuff to chase after the hype, but I thought this week itd be the best chance to take on Picos final week 3 theme, Blammed since Pico Day 2021 is coming up.
Newgrounds was a site and community that I only participated in almost peripherally as I know a lot of people who were prominant in its first few waves of popularity and Ive always kind of wished I jumped in early when I first had the inkling to do so. It was still awesome to get to meet Tom Fulp as well as many other people working there in 2014 at the Newgrounds office after he had tweeted about my Castle Crashers medley I had made in 2011.
Ive been really enjoying seeing this new wave of interest and hype for NG blossum out of Friday Night Funkin and Ive been really lucky to also get to make my own content out of it that people have been enjoying. I put a ton of work into this cover since Blammed is an absolute world shattering track and is a lot of peoples favorites. I hope you enjoy this one and continue to enjoy the FNF covers to come!
