So it’s been a while since the last episode of the Legend of Genij Dropped, but its finally back and better than ever. We’re finally starting to explore the lifestyle of those living in the Sandbender cities out in the Si Wong desert and how Genji views himself in the wider world.

So the episode begins inside of a small, cavernous arena known as the Sandbox, deep below the city of Jinsha. Just in case you don’t remember from last episode, Jinsha is a city of Sandbenders in the Si Wong desert and is the home of Avatar Genji, the boy whoh doesn’t even know he’s the avatar. The crowd are going wild watching a match, and in the ring is Genji himself, facing a man named Quicksand.
The two are going at it intensely and Genji is getting beaten down pretty hard. The other competitors are even making fun of him, wondering how he was allowed in the ring. The fighter then uses a crazy new bending ability which lets him shape the sand in front of him in to a hand to grab Genji’s leg. This is kinda like the Dai Li’s rock hands, but of course with sand.
Genji’s world is then rocked around, throwing his flailing body all around the arena, but he manages to make a soft landing. At this moment, Genji knows he must hit back, and hit back hard. Genji then uses a tremendous amount of sand to swing back at his opponent, pretty much blinding him temporarily, but its never that easy. The man manages to get control of the sand and form it into two huge fists, rady to knock Genji right back out of the ring. As you can guess, this is exactly what happens, and Genji is completely and utterly destroyed, wiped out of the ring… Quicksand becomes the new champion of the underground fighting arena and takes home the prize money. Nice little call back to the Arena toph fought at if you ask me.
Back in the locker rooms, Genji’s body is completely torn up with bruises everywhere, and he starts getting teased by another competitor named Malik. Malik confronts Genji, suggesting that things must be pretty rough at his place if he’s stooping to underground cage fighting to make ends meet. Obviously if you remember from last Episode, Genji is doing this to help his mother with the rent for their place, especially after the new harsh restrictions placed on them. Genji refuses to answer, but Malik continues anyway, offering Genji a small cash job, saying it’ll be a better way to make money than street fighting.
