Interest in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has plummeted. It's Youtube trailer has been out for 6 weeks, and it's still not at 1 million views. Interest is dismal on Nintendo and Xbox, too. It got flogged by Persona, Spyro the Dragon, Resident Evil Code Veronica, and more. The tragedy is, all of this could have been avoided. The original FF7 (1997) by Squaresoft was a classic Playstation 1 game. FF7 Remake should have been the biggest JRPG of all time, but instead Square Enix tried to be too clever. They "Remade" it into a dishonestly marketed meta sequel (or multiverse spinoff. No one can say for sure), in which the story and characters were rebirthed into Disneyfied mockeries of themselves, retooled for Kingdom Hearts fans and the Marvel audience. It is the worst bait-n-switch in gaming history, the Final Fantasy Spirits Within of video games. Rebirth was so bad, bloated, butchered and full of retcons that it woke up millions of gamers. RIP Final Fantasy 7. The post-FF7 comp was a mistake. Starring Cloud Strife, Barret, Tifa, Aeris, Cait Sith, Red XIII, Cid Highwind, Vincent, Sephiroth and CHADLEY. See you for FF7R Part 3.
