Everyone knows FF7 Rebirth ruined the original game. But the scene where Red XIII learns the truth about his father Seto is truly bad. We first look at the OG scene in the real Final Fantasy 7 (1997) by Squaresoft, and break down why each storytelling element works and is pitch perfect. Bugenhagen is voice acted by Sir David Attenborough, and Nanaki by Kit Harington (Jon Snow). Then we look at the fake remake FF7 Rebirth "improved" the scene (by Square Enix), with over-the-top music, jarring camera shots, Disney furry voice acting, shouting, and zero intimacy and subtlety. Plus a filler appearance from Gi Nattak and Zack from Crisis Core. We also discuss Red XIII's atrocious voice change, why it sucks, and why you're wrong to defend it.
