This program highlights the early and last days of the Elgin Joliet and Eastern up until the CN takeover on February 1, 2009. This Chicagoland railroad was a favorite to many as their bright orange SD38-2’s pulled heavy freight on their outer belt system around the Windy City. We also get a chance to see some of their SW1001’s, GP38-2’s and leased locomotives. Trains from the Union Pacific and the Chicago Southshore make appearances as well.
