We head to northeast North Dakota to catch the action on a newly formed shortline in 2006. The Dakota Northern operates over ex-BNSF tracks from Grafton to Walhalla, North Dakota. We capture this line only months after its birth to watch as rebuilt GP10's take care of moving grain, potatoes, coal and ethanol. The railroad even treated us to adding the Minnesota Northern's caboose to the train! This is Granger Railroading at its best! Jointed rail, farm fields, 1st generation diesels, and a caboose!!!
