We discuss the importance of properly interpreting Scripture. Implications and applications must be derived from the text with the view that the Holy Spirit inspired author determined the meaning. Many evangelicals today use loose paraphrases or have an allegorical interpretation of Scripture that leads to error. We cite examples from authors like Priscilla Shirer and Rick Warren. We also discuss the Emergent/Progressive church and their mishandling of Scripture.
