The implication of Charlie Kirk's assassination has me worried; and it should worry you too.
In this video I cover 4 different topics: Trump's war on Tylenol, the implication of Charlie Kirk's assassination, misrepresentation of Charlie Kirk in the media and the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel.
Very recently president Donald Trump recommended pregnant women not to take Tylenol because according to him Tylenol causes autism. While In general I don't think it's advisable for any pregnant women to take drugs unless necessary, there doesn't seem to be any actual proof to the question does tylenol cause autism? As an autistic person on the autism spectrum, I share my thought on why I think this obsession with preventing or curing autism only causes harm to autistic people in the process and why I think it should be more important to create a more accessible society for autistic people rather be so concerned with what causes autism.
The second topic of this video deals with very disgusting and sick reaction of people celebrating Charlie Kirk's death, specifically the left celebrating Charlie Kirk's death and why I think it's wrong on a moral level but also why I don't think it should be a reason to celebrate anything when we create a society in which it's unsafe to share an opinion and why this will only give the far right more power in the process. At the same time, many people on the left are decent human beings who, even though, they disagree with Charlie Kirk, can still respect him as a human being. I have particular respect for Hunter Kozak, the last person to debate Charlie Kirk right before his death.
In the third segment of this video I go over a few examples of the media misrepresenting Charlie Kirk's views by taking his quotes intentionally out of context. Did Charlie Kirk advocate for stoning homosexuals? Does Charlie Kirk have no empathy for anyone? If you're to believe many posts on social media, you'd believe it's true. As someone who also has his views misrepresented, It's something I deeply care about esecially since Charlie Kirk is no longer here to defend his views. Not long after Charlie Kirk's death Stephen King, the author of The Shining, has posted misinformation about Charlie Kirk on Twitter and later apologised for being wrong.
Finally, I also talk about Jimmy Kimmel being cancelled by the Trump administration for saying that Charlie Kirk's death will score the right some points. As a proponent of free speech, I oppose the cancel culture no matter whether it happens to the people on the right or on the left and I criticise Trump's hipocracy when he engages in what he claimed to oppose. And while during the recording of this video, Jimmy Kimmel's future was still uncertain, I am happy that he was reinstated as the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
