THE IMAGINATIVE POWERS OF READING - Sarah Bro Trasmundi
Reading involves multiple micro breaks: Imagine how you speed up or slow down, or how you impose rhythmicality, stop, continue, or go back in the text. Yet, the function of such breaks is not systematically described in the reading literature. I argue that they are the glue for imagining. Sarah Bro Trasmundi is associate professor of cognitive ethnography at the University of Southern Denmark and Independent Researcher at Oslo University in the research group ’Literature, Cognition and Emotion’. She focuses on the intersection between cognition, imagination, and language in domains such as literature, interaction, reading, and education.
