The Magic of Teaching with Michael Kobito, MEd
Michael Kobito (BA ’15) is an educator, musician, and speaker from Cartersville, GA. He currently serves as the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Specialist with the Georgia Department of Education, and as Conductor of the Emory Wind Ensemble at Emory University. Through his eight years as an educator, Kobito has proudly been the recipient of five National Band Association Citations of Excellence and has been named an AP Teacher with Distinction after his AP Music Theory Class had a 100% participation and 100% pass rate. Additionally, Kobito was named the 2022 Teacher of the Year for Woodland High School and the Bartow County School System and is the 2023 Georgia Teacher of the Year. Kobito serves as a clinician and adjudicator across the state providing leadership clinics, judging events, and sharing inspiration to other educators. He serves as Associate Conductor of Tara Winds, an adult community band, and as a guest conductor of the Georgia Brass Band. This workshop took place in March 2024.
