SHOCK TROOP GAUNTLET Damnation difficulty Darktide gameplay on Comms-Plex 154/2f, Habzone HL-19-24 "Throneside", using the one, the only, M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun. This BUFF is absolutely insane.
First of all, the new cooldown buff is absolutely unreal. This now uses toughness to cool the weapon down in the first instance rather than HP. When you pair this new mechanic with the toughness damage reduction feats with the Veteran it does negligible damage to your toughness, meaning you can keep firing and cooling down during extended gun fights!!! This in turn means you can have your Ultimate ability active as long as there are targets to kill.
Secondly, the projectiles now penetrate the Bulwark shields... This is just absolutely *CHEFS KISS*. The gun feels like it has TRUE impact now that a little shield doesn't block it completely. Meaning you can now rip through enemy Ogryn, like the gun is meant to do.
The Shattering Impact (+1-4 Brittleness (Armoured enemies) on direct projectile hit) & Glory Hunter (+5-20% Toughness on Elite kill.) Blessings really do pair well as I have tuned my Plasma Gun to focus on destorying Crushers, Bulwark and Reapers.
There is still the issue of the worst reticule I've ever used, but this is one of my all time FAVOURITE weapons in the Warhammer 40K universe, so I am extremely happy to see it finally be buffed in Darktide after such a long time. I still do think the damage could be tweaked to push it over a couple more break points. Maybe that's just be being biased to the weapon though.
