In this video, I’m diving into the Talisker Surge, a Travel Retail exclusive that has been making waves but is it actually worth the premium? I’ll be breaking down the tasting notes of the Surge and putting it head-to-head with the classic Talisker 10 to see how they compare.

My general takeaway? The Surge is perfectly fine, it’s not a bad dram, but it’s certainly not a great one either. The biggest sticking point is the price tag; for what you’re getting, it feels significantly overpriced.

Beyond just the Surge, I also share some thoughts on the current state of the distillery. Since their recent rebranding, it feels like Talisker has lost some of that signature "edge" and coastal punch that made it a staple. To my palate, the liquid just isn't as tasty or characterful as it used to be. This is why I do not buy Taliskers anymore.
