Welcome back to our early morning seminary teacher training series! In this video, we explore how to help your students move beyond simply understanding gospel doctrines to truly feeling their truth and importance deep in their hearts.

- Moving From Mind to Heart: Although students may identify and understand a gospel principle, they will often not apply it until they feel its truth and importance through the Spirit. As President Thomas S. Monson taught, our goal is not just to “pour information” into the minds of our students, but to "inspire the individual to think about, feel about, and then do something about living gospel principles".
- The Triad of Teaching Objectives: Elder Neal A. Maxwell emphasized that our teaching must underscore the "verity, the relevancy, and the urgency" of the gospel in order to hasten full conversion. It is the Holy Ghost that impresses the significance of these doctrines upon the students' hearts, giving them both the desire and the strength to actually implement the principles.
- Reflecting on Personal Experiences: One of the most effective ways to help students invite the Spirit and prepare to act is to encourage them to reflect on personal experiences related to the principle being taught. Asking questions like, “What blessings have you seen in your life... from keeping the law of tithing?” helps them recognize the real-world impact of the doctrine. Additionally, teachers sharing true stories from their own lives or the lives of others can significantly help students feel the truth of the principle.
- The Power of Testimony: To bring about action and doing, teachers must provide regular opportunities for students to bear witness of the principles they are learning. Teachers can also help students feel the importance of these truths by bearing their own testimony, highlighting the testimonies of individuals in the scriptures, and sharing the words of latter-day prophets.
