My friend on Twitter - Jacqueline - has been successfully composting with worms for many years but just recently ran into a problem whereby most of her worms seem to have disappeared in a very short space of time!
Nothing about the bin, the environment or the food stuff changed but a telling remark may be that the contents of the bin were very wet. This could mean the bin was turning anaerobic and the worms bailed, or there was a slow die off in the bin, so it went unnoticed, due to the bin becoming anaerobic.
It's a bit of a mystery - but I hope the suggestions in this video might help.
