As we mark a New Year, the clock is ticking, and our time is growing short to make #ClimateJustice a reality. The Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, gave this powerful admonition to the nations of the world at #COP26. Those in the wealthy countries of the Global North must act now to follow through on promises, and to go further to protect the planet, especially those in the Global South who are already in danger of losing entire countries to the wrath of storms and sea level rise.
We can't think of a more fitting message for 2022. The climate catastrophe requires that we raise our voices to call on our leaders to actually lead. The future for humanity and for all of Nature demands that we recognize that we are one, living together on a small planet, and that we need to care for each other, or we will perish.
