Hope you'll enjoy my piano version of "The Girl from Ipanema"!
It's an accurate, carefully created piano arrangement of the famous bossa nova tune.
The music was composed in 1962 by Antônio Carlos Jobim (under the title "Garota de Ipanema", with lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes).
The English version of the song was later written by Norman Gimbel.
The song became a huge hit when it was released in the 1960s − it won a Grammy award, appeared in countless films (typically as elevator music), and has been recorded by many artists worldwide.
The most famous versions of the song were recorded by Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto, Frank Sinatra, as well as Ella Fitzgerald and the Supremes.
Needless to say, the song makes for a wonderful, jazzy piano cover!
