You can't help but hear about the gig economy more and more, about the fact that so many people are choosing to become independent contractors by working on platforms like Uber, Fiverr, Freelancer and so on.

While working via Uber or Fiverr might be very convenient, there are also risks involved and depending on where you live, gig economy jobs may or may not be able to put more revenue in your pockets than traditional jobs.
