Our live '5 Year Celebration' turned into a Q and A due to signal problems and weather, however, we still returned in the dark and the rain to bring you our ghost hunt!
For many decades, the Scouts who stayed at the scout hostel at Blake Dean, the far side of Hardcastle Crags, faced sleepless nights. knowing, in the adjacent graveyard, there had been sightings of a ghost! A lady in a long green coat and long black boots..... but who could she be?
This location once had a gigantic trestle railway bridge spanning the valley from 1901 to about 1912, and had been the sight of two tragedies. Ada Harwood had tried to show her nephew it had been safe to walk on it to admire the view and fallen to her death inn1909. Another lady had had an affair with a navy building the reservoirs, and after it ended, threw herself off the bridge. Could either of them be the answer to the graveyard ghost?
