MattJ155 | The Getaway - Cut Cars ft. Getaway Developer @RetroGamerBoy & @RacingFreak @MattJ155 | Uploaded October 2020 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
Today I have a little treat for you all. Most of the time, when we discuss things in video games which were cut during development, we can only guess at why these decisions were made. But this time, we're lucky enough to be joined by a developer who worked on the game as a car artist - Mike Rouse - and he shares his memories of why certain cars didn't make the final cut.
Mike is still a developer, but also a YouTuber, and you can watch his videos here: youtube.com/c/RetroGamerBoy
Here's a video where he shares some more developer secrets about the game: youtube.com/watch?v=cMbqvC-tqj8
Also, I need to give a big thanks to RacingFreak for his part in this video. I've been pretty busy lately as I recently started a new job and I'm currently in the process of moving house! So RacingFreak helped out a lot with the filming and editing of the video.
He's done loads of work on bringing the cut cars back to life so we can see them in the game, not just in pre-release screenshots.
Check out his channel here: youtube.com/user/TheOldGamer95
I recommend his video of the beta cars too: youtube.com/watch?v=qUW_0PbyOtQ
