both applications allow you to play your Steam, Epic, GOG and Amazon PC store games inside your VR headset- WITHOUT any PC!
This said, the hugely popular Meta Quest 3 and 3s VR headsets have a crucial flaw that continues to barricade progress with its missing Turnip video driver support.
The older Oculus / Meta Quest 2 remains compatible with Turnip, The PICO 4 Ultra which has the exact same chipset as a Quest 3, remains compatible with Turnip and the upcoming Steam Frame will be functioning solely with Turnip.
This needs Meta to fix, not just for GameNative's sake, but for all progress into the future where standalone PCVR could one day actually be possible, progress cannot be made without this Turnip support.
The development of GameNativeXR has not gone to waste though, this sparked a desire to improve upon the 'out the box' experience for users of the more stable and compatible WinlatorXR, applying the advancements from Winlator Ludashi plus game store to easily add your PC games in device.
All code towards the XR modifications has been passed back to the GameNative project and the lead developer has since acquired a Meta Quest 3s, so the future is still bright and in safe hands.
